Our history

From1994, much of our work was based at the Copleston Centre. Originally therapists developed community-based outreach work, often visiting people in their homes. Social gatherings and group outings were also a very important part of the work. The therapists established important links with the Community Mental Health Teams, The Maudsley Hospital and community-based organisations such as Southside Partnership and Thamesreach.

Since then numerous people have benefited from the services and MHP has built on the work developed by the original team.

Groups and organisations we have delivered therapies for in the past and those we are currently working with include:

Black Elderly Group Southwark
The Copleston Centre
Creation Trust
Creative Therapies Project
Kindred Minds
Notting Hill Housing
Peckham Befrienders
South London and Maudsley (SLaM)
Southwark Pensioners Centre
Together UK/Southwark Hub

Our funders have included: Awards 4 All; City Bridge Trust; Peckham Voluntary Sector Forum; The Maudsley Charity; Southwark Council; Southwark Primary Care Trust; Wates Foundation.

We are also very grateful for the in-kind support we have received from the Copleston Centre.
